halloweeeeeeen!

We spent Halloween this year at my mother in law's new pad. It's in a great big beautiful neighborhood, and as far as we can tell, full of lots of nice neighbors too. We planned a yummy warming comfort-food dinner for before venturing out. The kiddos were dressed as a ninja assassin (Dakota), a mermaid (Shiloh) and a cow (Noah).

Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs, field greens salad and garlic bread!

Then of course, the trick or treating ensued... Shiloh was VERY brave until some treat giving dummy scared her with his grim reaper mask and long fingers that preceded him out the front door... after that it was downhill - not a RAPID descent, but I had to hold her hand going up to each door, and her bag got too heavy, and I had to carry it... and then I lovingly convinced her that it was time for pumpkin pie, egg nog ice cream and getting warm.

Jason had rigged a screeching cat for when anyone stepped on the doormat. We heard this darn thing reverberating throughout the neighborhood all night. Noah checks out the decor... :)

first house...

yes, my husband is drooling for the picture...

(tries out different camera settings - option 1...)

(aaaaand option 2)

good light, bad option - editted the heck out of this.

this is the neighbor who has yard of the month every month... next door to Grandma's... she doesn't even live there yet and they're making her life difficult!!! Can't help the dead cypress tree in the back buddy! Anyways...

Like my deer in headlights I'm really acting smiley but not so much inside kind of smile? Tired, stressed, overwhelmed and trying to have fun... that's me!

a little grumpy moo-moo cow...

the loot

another really bad picture of me.

this was the best lit house...

And here is a really crappy photo of our dessert options... pumpkin pie, cool whip (best combo, hands down), egg nog ice cream and gluten free brownies. And coffee... we had coffee too.

It was a good time - I reckon we'll do this again next year. We'll most likely be living in Jason's mom's townhouse and this will be the only neighborhood we can trick or treat in. But it's a good one and Grandma always makes it fun. :)

How was YOUR Halloween??
