friday faves and a february photo-a-day catch up

Hey friends! Welp, I have to say, I am glad this week is over, though it seems that it went by so fast, and I really didn't get to doing anything that I had planned on doing (specifically, getting outside for a couple of hikes while Shiloh was at school). It's been rough sleep wise. Though, last night I managed to get a full, uninterrupted night's sleep (whaaaat!?), the kids were fussy and frustrating. It's like, I can't win. Whatevs. Thinking maybe I will make Fridays "go for a walk and a picnic" day with my little ones... let's see how soon I can get out the door in the morning before meltdowns and naptimes ensue.

In other news, I was contacted earlier this week by an old colleague from the corporation I used to work for about a position open with the company she now works for... I cleaned up my resume and sent it off to the lady who would need to see it. I am uneasy about it, in some ways, primarily because of my little ones. The only thing I can think though is this season is for us to get on our feet and the faster we can bring the money in, the faster we can move on and start living our dreams. Not sure how I feel about working for a major corporation again... I am considering all options though... and I would be able to work from home... so we'll see I guess. I'll keep you posted.

This week's Friday faves is good - basically because I kept track of all the great links that I watched or read this week. You will enjoy all of them, I promise thee.

friday faves and a flashback

Uggggggh...I am so bad about these posts. Why did I even start this? I seriously need to be better at bookmarking links throughout the week. I don't really look at many other websites except blogger, twitter, etsy, facebook and well, that's it. And other people's blogs. Pfft.

So here is yet another attempt at a list of links I remember I've visited this week that I liked... *thinking...thinking*... ah yes! here they are:

new favorite, beautiful blog
I know these may be getting old for some of you, but we had a little chuckle... sounds all too familiar round here.
more Ron Paul lovin'
Professional and local rock climber Kate Reese-McGinnis talks about work/life balance in this great short by (also local and professional) photographer Andrew Kornylak. She also blogs here.

....and a flashback from May 2010 when we visited Warren Wilson in Swannanoa, NC, for my cousin's graduation, and a few other cute pics of Shiloh:

totally random, this is the hallway of a building we used the bathroom in while we were on the Inman Park tour of homes in 2010... just liked the light.

Liebster Award lovin'

Aw man, Ashley over at Sugar Mama Bakeshop gave me this sweet little award :o) Ashley was my link up party buddy and was so sweet to select my blog as one of her favorites!

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers.

The RULES are:
1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Enjoy the love from the award brings to your blog.
5. Have fun and spread the love!

My top five blogs with under 200 followers are...
1. seascreatures - an old soul... love her blog and her photographs!
2. a curious thing - you definitely want to meet this girl - her story is raw and inspiring.
3. style of a songbird - this girl is absolutely precious, and a thriftaholic like me. :)
4. Songbird Stories - my friend Jessica is on an incredible journey of adoption, and is also an amazingly talented crafty lady!
5. Camp Patton - THE MOST HILARIOUS blog I read. Every time. I am dying. She is gorgeous, talented and a mother of two children under two. Actually, under 18 months. Need I say more?

Check out these ladies... you won't be disappointed. :o)

And thanks again, Ashley!

friday faves and a BIG FAT PHOTO flashback (and a song for Loren)

First, for the faves:
I loved reading this post and digesting all that it had for me.
I really want four of these (dining room), four of these and four of these , but can't afford them. (sigh)
I want to go back here so bad I could spit. Don't know if I can stand another year with no beach.
This made me think. Not pushing any political agenda, though I know who I am voting for in the primary.
This is an accurate representation of the heart of Jesus.
This inspired me to eat better.

And since we're talking about the beach, and just to tease you all (and myself) here during the bleak midwinter, here are some photos of that beloved place, Rosemary Beach, and the last minute trip we took there in May 2009 - it was surprisingly cold and non-summery, actually. I took sooo many pictures - it's hard to narrow it down (I love to photo dump here, if you haven't noticed already)... so enjoy all 42 of them, mkay?

this is 49 Hamilton Place, where we honeymooned :)

this is in Seaside... down the road a wee bit

Central Square record shop upstairs, book shop downstairs

outside Bud and Alley's Taco Bar - YUM

and if you made it this far... I had a "flashback" this week via a long lost soul-sister reaching out and finding me, and she's been in my thoughts all week.

This song is a flashback to our short but powerful time together. Much love, dear friend.
