New Year's Eve at my friends Jeannie & Will's new home in Mountain Park. They are long time friends of ours and it was lovely to ring in the New Year with them. Here's Jeannie making me my first Michelada. I fell in love with the recipe and subsequently whenever I enjoy beer it is of the Mexican variety with all the fixins added so that I can enjoy it again and again... BTW Jeannie and Will have the most amazing house in one of the most amazing places around here. Mountain Park is like this little niche community nestled somewhere between cities... big lake in the middle, lots of undulating terrain and craftsman-style homes mixed in with cabins and dojos. They have a dojo, basically. It's amazing. I am a little jeal. |
Jason playing some weird flute type thing. Not a pipe. |
Happy New Year! |
My little Charlie cat doing what Charlie cat loves best. Well, not really but she was a being a real lap cat that week. |
My latest obsession: pimiento cheese and red pepper jelly on crackers. Y'all.... |
Just a little peek at the fall greens I transplanted in winter into the community garden after they basically were getting NO SUN on my patio. They seem to have taken root and after all this rain I am hoping for something worth harvesting in Spring. Big plans for the Spring/Summer patio garden in the works now... |
where I am happiest... |
my boys and I |
I love my glasses a little too much. |
Took Noah and Shiloh to the park near our house. BEAUTIFUL day and they just played and played in the dirt, caught lady bugs and met new friends. It was a good day at the park for sure... |
Noah's favorite things in the whole world... dinosaurs! He loves it when I sit with him and set them all up for him. :) |
The day we went to the park I met a lady who told me about this place called "Catch Air"... it's an indoor play area with all kinds of fun stuff for kids - inflatables, slides, climby things... we went there on Monday and the kids had a blast. They even got a dance party with Elmo! That's Noah giving him a high five. :) |
Daddy soaked to the bone cleaning gutters in the rain.... :( |
I like my hair best on day 3 no shower... |
Noah - first thing in the morning... dinosaurs get dumped on the floor! |
Me ... waiting in the office of Dakota's school. I had a meeting with them yesterday (subject for another blog post) to get Dakota on a more aggressive plan to help him and accommodate his issues related to Aspergers. It was a very good meeting... more on that later. (PS: flats - got these with a Macy's gift card I got for Christmas) |
my beautiful son and I this morning after reading books. |
Totally thought it was a pipe(with the middle finger up)so THANKS for clarifying. You look genuinely happy in the photo with your boys. Those glasses suit you well plus you are skinn-ay! Suave dry shampoo ($3) makes 3 day hair possible for me. Glad the conference was productive and not demoralizing. Been there....
ReplyDeleteLaura - I am not that skinny. I think the angle taken of me with the cat made me look skinny. But to be sure, I have junk in my trunk. :)
DeleteIt was a middle finger. I was messing with Brooke as always when photos are being taken of me. She didn't catch it. It was a puerto rican flute and not a pipe to be clear :)
ReplyDeleteYa'll are totally highschool ;)
DeleteI, too, thought it was a pipe. No problem, of course, but I was curious as to what would be smoked from it, and in the house? Anyhow, I think it's funny you mentioned that about your hair. If I have something going on that takes me into the outside world and I'd like to look pretty, I have to sort of mathematically figure out when to wash my hair. I air dry it, so it can't be at night, and not most mornings because of chores/homeschooling...Always too lazy in the afternoons, other things I'd like to do. Weekends it is. I usually like it on day 2 if I'm wearing it down, day 3 or 4 if it's in a bun. Silliness.
ReplyDeleteLove the forest pictures, but the last one is the star of the day:)
