1. where is your cell phone?
Actually, I have no idea. I think it's upstairs in the bathroom, where I left it when Shiloh had her dual puking and pooping session this morning. Sorry!
2. your hair?
Ooooohhhhh Lord. That's a loaded question. Well, like a dork, wanting some kind of change in my life, I cut it ALLL off. It was super long. I cut it off into a pixie cut I'd had before, but I didn't experience the same happy feelings I thought I would. To say I regret cutting it is an understatement. Therefore I now and subjecting myself to the awfully awkward process of growing it out. UGH. It's naturally dark blonde, in case you were wondering. Just for giggles and to cause me great pain, here's a couple pics of me when my hair was long... not long before I cut it. ((wwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh))
3. your mother?
I am more like her than I am not. She is an incredibly complex person, who has walked a very difficult road, but still maintains a great capacity to love. The more I go through this life, the more I am in touch with her humanity, and can accept and love her for who she is, and accept and love myself for who I am.

4. your favorite food?
I love food, in general, but a big plate of deep fried, greasy Southern soul food makes me happiest (i.e. fried chicken, chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, collards, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, biscuits, any of that). On the flipside, I ADORE Thai food and Indian food. Green Curry,Larb or Malai Kofta, and I am a happy girl.

5. your dream last night?
I didn't have a dream last night, I didn't get to sleep that hard. I was up holding a bucket for my daughter.

6. your favorite drink?
Depends on the time of day... and what kind of drink we're talking about. A nice cup of coffee or yerba mate for a hot drink (used to drink mate religiously, once turned my whole office onto it and was selling kilos out of the back of my truck... heee heee), or a glass of wine at night. Pellegrino with lime any other time.7. your dream/goal?
To have a small, manageable farm, where we can grow food and raise small livestock and chickens for food. Provide CSA for local community. Provide job opportunities for unemployed folks who need a little extra income - they can work for the food or for pay, whichever is to their greatest benefit. To live in true community with other believers fulfilling the Great Commission. To be a conduit for God's extravagant love.

19. your friends:
I have a lot of acquaintances but not many CLOSE friends. I probably have two really close friends and that's it. I kinda keep it that way because I hate small talk and I really only want to go deep with those people that I don't have to explain myself or my eccentricities to. If I feel even slightly like there's over exertion in a relationship with someone, and it doesn't feel natural, I kinda shy away from that. All this being said, I have been reconnecting with some old friends lately, and it's super nice... when you're friends with someone who has watched your life and you don't have to explain everything to, because they've been there and seen it happen. There's something comforting about that too.20. your life:
...is in turmoil but we are hopeful that it will get better soon. We wish less people would judge and try to understand where we're at, and what we're doing with our time.

Number 19- If I feel even slightly like there's over exertion in a relationship with someone, and it doesn't feel natural, I kinda shy away from that.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly me. I can relate to pretty much everything here. But that especially, I must have complete authenticity with people I interact with and become close to.
Same here Bekah, I don't have even the slightest ounce of energy for anything less than that (the authenticity part). It drains me! I just want to be understood! Glad to know we can relate! <3
ReplyDeleteLove this Brooke, so glad you did it. It's nice getting to know you! I have never gone as short as you did with your hair, but understand the waiting for it to grow, you just want it to hurry up! Sending you 'hair growing" luv!
