This past weekend, after spending all day inside going through bags of clothes and closets, pulling out things to sell on craigslist, to donate and to sell at my local consignment shop, and pulling together all my vintage finds to sell in my new Etsy shop, I was going a little stir crazy. My house is not huge, and we've got it arranged in such a way that it doesn't feel very open right now either... so the piles of vintage stuff vs donate stuff vs craigslist stuff vs consignment stuff was overwhelming my house. So we decided no matter what, come hell or high water, we were going to Kennesaw Mountain to try for a hike but definitely a picnic. The hike didn't happen, but the picnic did.
We had a loverly time. We laid out a quilt in the battlefield off Burnt Hickory Road, plopped the baby down and then Jason and Dakota went crazy with the Arrowcopter the picked up at Harbor Freight. Noah did not enjoy the tall, stiff grass, but ventured out a bit... lots of grasshoppers everywhere, and the perfect evening light made for some great photos of the kids.
Plain old turkey sandwiches, fruit, carrots and organic ranch dip, and M&M cookies from Publix never tasted so good.
Here are some photos from our picnic. Enjoy!
Love B
