the last 11 days of 2011

The last eleven days of 2011 brought us...

...an empty house, full now of only memories of our first five years and two months married... a milestone to leave it... a surreal, somewhat painful milestone. December 21st.

the kids were so patient and resilient.

 our bedroom.
 our bathroom.
a very tired mama, in the same clothes I'd been wearing for four or five days...
our room and the walk in closet we turned into Noah's nursery... what an undertaking that was! And now to leave it... :o(
 Shiloh's room.
 Dakota's room.
Optimus Prime. Leader of the Autobots. Also Protector of Dakota's Room.
The random crap that makes you crazy because none of it goes together...
 dirty, tired babies.

The tree finally went up on the 23rd at the townhouse.

Noah has now removed about all the ornaments from the height of his head down to the bottom of the tree :)

And on December 23rd, we also had visitors bring us 4 boxes of food, 2 boxes of toys and $260 :o) true Christmas blessings.

Christmas Eve at Mama C's... dinner at 9PM - turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, mac and cheese... YUM.

 Santa came. :)
Dakota got a Sonic Generations game for XBOX
Shiloh got a pack of princesses and shared the teepee with Noah.

 Noah got a scootin firetruck.

I got some penguin PJs. Jason got polar bear pjs.
Now on to my Mom's Christmas Day afternoon.

 my niece Ruthie

 my Mama

Noah is in Jason's old shirt.
Dakota got the ULTIMATE Optimus Prime ("my collection is complete!")
 Shiloh and Papa match!

Now on to my Dad's for Boxing Day. December 26th.

 my nephew Davis.

Davis LOVES Thomas the Tank Engine!!
My Bobba (stepmom, but I've been calling her that since I was 5)

 Dad and Bobba
 Christmas Cracker crowns
me, my Dad and my sister
 December 28th - Trey's birthday :)

December 30th. Family Going-Away Party for my Dad and Bobba (moving to Kansas City)

It was my niece Abbie's birthday too, and we sang her a little ditty.

And now, New Year's Eve Party. December 31st. Preceeded earlier in the day by my husband's dog biting my beautiful Shiloh in the face. Long story, very disturbing... but he asked I not post the pictures. We spent 4 hours in the ER getting stitches on New Year's Eve. Good times. Poor Shiloh... but I am happy to report that she is doing very well. And the dog will be gone as soon as we can find a working home for him.
the kids took over the dining room table...
I made a turkey, collards, black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese (homemade of course), and some friends brought biscuits.
And my dear friend Sheryl made her famous lemon cake... off the chain! And so beautiful!

 Happy New Year!
Jack says Happy New Year too.. he's happy to be an inside cat again.

 Friends since 6th grade.
 Sam's CamWow thingy... weird.
What the boys did all night!
 Silly Me.

Mark and Jason sporting the peacoats.

 What can I say?
 It was the whiskey.

The End.

I reckon I'm back now, y'all, ya hear?
