confused.

Okay okay... I admit it. I've been a passionate debater of all things political and why I plan to vote the way I plan to vote. Lately I've become a bit confused about some things. It's not that I plan to swing left. It's just I am so ill about what I'm doing if I swing right - which I plan to do, mind you for a few strong reasons. One, I believe in the sanctity of marriage and of life and I know a Republican will vote that way generally speaking on all issues related to those two. I also don't particularly want my job shipped overseas and so I support McCain's tax proposals. But GOSH! There is a lot of crap going on right now with the tanking of the markets and the ridiculous bail out plan which before I didn't really have an opinion on, but now that it's passed, I do! I realize that it was a political ploy to gain private assets and to try to make Bush look like he did something positive on his last leg - among other things! And if you think even harder about it, with the way the world's markets are being impacted, it seems to be one of the first if not a significant step towards one world monetary systems and government... I mean, this thing is deep! Not to mention this quote that I just uncovered by none other than Thomas Jefferson proves as a nation we are WAY off base...

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."- Thomas Jefferson 1802

THEN, my Obama supporter Facebook friend Aimee Rose sent me this article from Rolling Stone (liberal, I know, but still - there is truth in jest)that talks about McCain and all he's been up to these 70-odd years and man, it really put a sour taste in my mouth. I am just so freakin' confused about this election. I am tired of all the posturing and games and Messiah complexes and media non-sense. I just want truth but it doesn't seem to come easily. I want to know characters of these men and a voting record can show some of that, yes, but what are their motives, ambitions, and what do they last think about at night when they lay their heads down to sleep?

This past Sunday at FaceDown we prayed specifically for the election. One of the things I prayed was that the Lord would give us His wisdom in the matter. Not that we would look at one candidate or another by our own affiliation but that we would look to Him for guidance. The other thing we prayed was that God would infiltrate the hearts of the candidates and that they would meet Him and see Him and be lead by Him. So I mean, I REALLY need to hear God on this one! Seriously! Cause I am about to vote for Barr. Man, we all need to be praying!

So... moving on... tomorrow's my 29th birthday. AND it's supposed to rain cats and dogs all day and be chilly. I am stoked about the chilly part, not so stoked about the rain part, although my plants will be happy. We were going to go to the botanical gardens but if it's pouring that's not going to work. We're going to eat at the Flying Biscuit I hope, if not there then R. Thomas which I haven't been to in AGES! At any rate we'll be downtown. Maybe the High Museum of Art? Jason and I have never done that together. Oh well! Happy birthday to me!
